More Gratuitous 80's Pop Culchah Stuff
The Missus was out having a birthday drink with a friend last evening, so I sat down to watch Silverado, which I had never seen before.
My friends, let me just tell you here and now that this movie is conclusive proof that a heavy-weight cast does not, repeat not, guarantee a good movie. I actually found myself feeling sorry for Kevin Kline, who is normally one of my favorite actors.

Posted by: jen at July 8, 2005 12:59 PMSilverado is another one of those movies (like The Quick And The Dead) I like despite (or maybe because of) the fact that it requires no small amount of 'suspension of disbelief' -- if you approach it as being about 'real people' in 'real situations', it becomes difficult to watch (and Kevin Costner would become even *more* insufferable that his role otherwise would be...) -- personally, I think of Silverado as being in about the same genre-ballpark as Buckaroo Bonzai (one of my all-time faves, by the by...)
