MOVIE BABES OF WHATEVER THEY ARE CALLING THIS DECADE
Your humble LMC gives you Keri Russell whose big break was the short-lived WB series "Felicity". She had a small but good part in We Were Soldiers and I read something this week that she will be in Mission Impossible 3 with that middle-aged cad, Tom Cruise. Keep an eye on her, I think she has real potential so long as she stays away from photo shoots in skin mags, movies on the estrogen channels, etc.

and Tom Cruise. I'm beginning to think that he's becoming radioactive . . .

She was reprimanded by the head of the network for it ... so wild. He made some comment publicly, like: "Nobody will be cutting their hair without prior approval from now on." Poor thing!
I believe she's in some off-Broadway play right now. She was a presenter at the Tonys. She's a beautiful girl.
Posted by: red at June 19, 2005 03:20 PMA friend of mine told me a fascinating story about "Mission: Impossible 3," Tom Cruise, Scarlett Johansson and the Church of Scientology Friday night while we were waiting in line to see "Batman." I dare not repeat it here just in case he made the whole thing up, but it was a pretty interested little bit of gossip. Maybe somebody with better sources can share the details.
Posted by: Jeff Harrell at June 19, 2005 04:12 PMRadar Magazine had a piece about it but my comment was rejected because of the URL ...
If you get to Radar (Google it, I suppose) there's a big story about the Johansen Cruise meeting. It's still a lot of "she told our source this ..." But there seem to be a lot of floating rumors out there right now that Cruise was feeling out a couple of different starlets, having "meetings", and gauging their feelings about scientology ... until he landed on Holmes. I have no idea if it's true, but I've read it in multiple spots.
Who knows.
Posted by: red at June 19, 2005 10:23 PMKeri is also appearing in "Into the West", the mini-series currently on TNT. She showed up in this weekend's episode, looks like she'll be in at least next weeks as well. I've been quite impressed with the show, so far.

Posted by: dave s at June 20, 2005 07:01 AMDitto what Jack said. Very good mini-series.

If it's true, Cruise and the Scientologists had better watch out or they're going to find themselves in a turf war with Islam. Child Brides are THEIR bag, baby!
Posted by: Brian B at June 20, 2005 01:34 PMKeri Russell is my claim to fame. She's the only movie/television star to whom I have been tied (as in, with rope). I just like to mention that factoid as often as possible.
