Tonight at the Smithsonian
I'll be speaking on "Shaded Media? The Strange New World of Electronic "Citizen Media" and the Future of American Politics" for the Smithsonian Associates program. And yes, I'll be using INDCjournal.com as an example of the great potential for blogging's impact on American politics.
And yes, count this right up there with the Red Heifer and the mediocrity of Notre Dame football as signs of the impending Apocalypse...
Posted by Steve at May 12, 2005 09:42 AMDid you do that masterful p-shop?

You should send the 'shop to Iowahawk; it fits in with his 50s era horror parody perfectly.
Hey, and as for Notre Dame: we got Charlie Weis. If he can keep the job from killing him, I'm thinking the return to glory is on its way.
And as for the speaking engagement, just remember us little people when you hit the bigtime. You know, when you start getting the regular panel gigs with Glenn and Wonkette, and all that.
And I have to ask -- when do the Llamas get the inevitable RightTalk gig? Llama Radio would truly be a thing to hear. (Yip! and Orgle! sound effects, Bach blogging introduced with the appropriate Walter/Wendy Carlos buffer music, and regular callers such as Red and B.A. Jeff.). I know I'd listen.
I would do the radio thing in a heartbeat.
And yes, the beauty of the pshop is Dan Rather's smiling mug pasted over the panic filled face of Steve McQueen.
The horror....indeed.

Posted by: RobertJ at May 12, 2005 12:37 PMAwww shucks. This is better than writing a page in Tom Friedman's new book.
Posted by: Bill from INDC at May 12, 2005 07:23 PMHow can you possibly have a poster of Dan Rather and not include Trent Lott...who lost his Majority Leader job because of lefty blogs who (correctly) beat the crap out of him?
First blood being what it is, and all.
Posted by: carla at May 12, 2005 07:33 PMUm, Carla - Lott went because the conservative blogsphere turned on him, not because of the lefties.
