You know a semester is going to suck when...
you get this email from a student the day before classes start:
I hope we aren't supposed to read all of these books from cover to cover... and this is pretty expensive... See you Wednesday.

File it on "ways to stimulate teacher burnout," or "how to piss on the flame of teaching."
